Ezekiel "Zeke" Hewitt is a supporting character, appearing as a member of the cannibalistic Hewitt family and a cousin to Leatherface.
Biography[]
Zeke is a truck driver and the brother of Shiloh and a cousin to Leatherface. He is a skittish ghoulish man, in both appearance and nature, dressed in typical trucker garb, who appears to suffer from some sort of psychiatric illness, that makes him laugh uncontrollably when he's excited, which is essentially always the case. Possible candidates are PBA, an emotional disorder, sometimes caused by brain damage, or Kuru, a neural disease, brought on by cannibalism. He also wears dog tags, which may indicate that he is a discharged military veteran, like his late uncle/cousin Charlie.
Zeke appears in the WildStorm Comics as a distant member of the family. He is cunning and deranged, but not mentally disabled, unlike his brother. Zeke almost never speaks, only cackling in a hyena-like manner. His only lines are when he mockingly announces the awakening of a victim, attempts to justify the murder of three policemen at the hands of Leatherface with his aunt Luda Mae, as well as at dinner time, when he pulls at Kim's hair and angrily reprimands her for interrupting the table prayer. Like the rest of the Hewitts, he is a cannibal and very vicious to the victims of his family. With his brother, Zeke kidnaps several victims and drives a "Blair Meat Co." truck that Leatherface hides in.
At the beginning of the comic, on June 13th, he is engaged in a high-speed chase with a highway ranger squad car, following an incident, in which he splashed the officers with a bucket of guts when they stopped him at a gas station for a broken taillight. His tire is shot and he ends up crashing on the highway, where he is temporarily cuffed and loaded into the squad car. When the arriving sheriff searches the truck, he finds multiple human bodies, one with his face flayed, among the hunks of cattle. He is quickly impaled through the mouth with a meat hook by Leatherface, who promptly kills the other two men. Zeke is seen laughing hysterically throughout the entire ordeal.
He is later seen in the Hewitt house, laughing at a kidnapped Karla in the living room and getting into an argument with Luda May over the highway murders a week prior. When Agents Hooper and Baines spot him creeping around the sewers during their infiltration, he runs behind a corner and orders Leatherface to cut the support beams in an attempt to kill them, before sneaking into their hideout shack, where Bond and Henkle are autopsying some of the bodies they found. Zeke hides in one of the body bags and stabs Bond through the chin when he opens it, later cutting him up and shoving an apple into the mouth of his decapitated head, displaying it, along with an assortment of guts, in a freezer. Zeke is also seen seated among the rest of the family at the dinner table.
He dies at the end of the comic, when he is impaled through the back with Leatherface's chainsaw by Kim, who had been fighting with the former in the back of his truck while Zeke was driving.
