The Ruger Vaquero Is A Weapon Featured In Both The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 And The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning
Appearance In 2003[]
Sheriff Hoyt (R. Lee Ermey) carries a Ruger Vaquero as his duty sidearm throughout the film. He uses this weapon to persuade the kids to remain on the ground while he questions Morgan about the suicide.
Appearance In The Beginning[]
The Ruger Vaquero revolver was Sheriff Winston Hoyt's (Lew Temple) duty sidearm. He pulls it on Thomas Hewitt near the beginning of the film to apprehend him but is killed by Charlie Hewitt who replaces him as Sheriff. The new Sheriff Hoyt (R. Lee Ermey) then carries it as his sidearm throughout the film. He is seen threatening Baily with it when she questions the way he goes about his police duties.

Trivia[]
- The firearm is anachronistic as the film is set in 1973 & 1969, but the Ruger Vaquero was not produced until 1980. Its likely it's standing in for the Colt Single Action Army revolver.
