Clem Hewitt is a minor character featured in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Raising Cain".

Biography[]

Clem is a member of the Hewitt family, who is part of their hunter troop, going out with his brothers Cal and Lyle, as well as Leatherface. Unlike his siblings, who are openly bloodthirsty and sadistic, Clem is mute, extremely placid and apathetic to boot, bordering at catatonia. This, along with his outward appearance, (premature balding, deformed body parts and short stature) heavily infer this to be the result of inbreeding, giving him the "Fuller look", similar to Shiloh. Due to his intellectual disabilities and physical shortcomings, Clem does not partake in the killing and simply helps his family pin down prey, transport it home and process the end product.

He appears sporadically throughout the comic, always in the background. In 1982, he joins his brothers on a "fishing trip" and holds down a panicked Ross for his untimely execution, later accompanying his kinsmen in handing the spoils to mother-to-be Henrietta and her sons, Abel and Cain. Six weeks later, Henrietta attempts to escape Fuller with her newborns, but is stopped by Luda Mae and Clem, who chase after her, but lose her in a flash flood. An aged Clem is seen in 2007, where he, along with the other Hewitts, witnesses his long lost nephew Cain's short-lived murder spree. He can again do nothing but watch as Cain is too swept away by a flood, along with grand-nephew Abel Jr.
